The curriculum delivered in Banbridge High School is underpinned by a strong pastoral care system.
Each class group is allocated a Form Teacher with whom they meet on a daily basis. An experienced Year Tutor in charge of each year group works closely with the team of Form teachers to monitor the welfare of the pupils within each year group.
A Vice Principal co-ordinates all aspects of Pastoral Care.
Where appropriate support from external agencies is accessed for pupils who require additional support.
Two well-qualified professional Counsellors are available two days each week.to help pupils discuss in confidence, problems they may be experiencing in various aspects of their life.
A well established induction programme supports pupils as they make the transition from Primary to Secondary education.
The Pastoral Care Policy aims to ensure that alongside academic achievement the physical, emotional and spiritual welfare of each pupil is supported.
A Personal Development Programme is in place for all pupils from Year 8 through to Year 14.
Individual achievement is recognised and celebrated, informally in assembly and formally through our Rewards System.
Pupils are encouraged to develop their interests and become involved in school life by participating in the wide range of extra curricular activities on offer.
