Learning for Life and Work is at the core of our Curriculum

  • The Key Stage 3 Curriculum consists of discrete time for Local and Global Citizenship, Personal, Social & Health Education, Education for Employability, and Home Economics.
  • The Key Stage 4 Curriculum consists of taught modules in Local and Global Citizenship, Personal, Social & Health Education, and Education for Employability. Classes study for either GCSE or Entry Level Qualifications.

Local & Global Citizenship

Pupils follow a course which seeks to empower young people to achieve their potential and to make informed decisions throughout their lives: as individuals, as contributors to society, economy and to the environment.
The modules studied are supported by the twin themes of rights & responsibilities.

Personal Development

Pupils follow a programme throughout their time in school which is intended to encourage their holistic development as individuals. The Personal Development programme will help each young person to:

  • work towards achieving their potential;
  • become confident, inter-dependent and participative citizens;
  • make informed and responsible decisions throughout their lives.

Careers Education and Guidance (CEAG)

LLW provides a sound base for pupils to make informed decisions on their futures. However addition guidance is catered for and this incudes:

  • Careers reference material
  • Individual pupil interviews
  • Work Experience
  • Educational visits
  • Visiting speakers to school
